Academic Impressions

The University of Alabama partners with Academic Impressions, an organization specializing in professional development resources for higher education, to provide faculty, staff, and students with access to training and development topics ranging from skills-based training, to leadership training, and more. Continuing Education & Life-Long Learning

CELL keeps professionals connected through a variety of educational training programs and professional development programs. These events provide excellent opportunities for networking, obtaining PDH and CEU credits, and staying current on industry trends and new research. Emergency Preparedness

The Office of Emergency Preparedness is tasked with improving the University’s readiness for potential emergencies and offers emergency preparedness awareness training and safety information.


Employee Assistance Program

ComPsych GuidanceResources, a full-service behavioral health care organization, offers professionally trained counselors to give you resources for coping more effectively with life challenges. For information or to schedule and appointment, call GuidanceResources at 888-283-3515.

GuidanceResources also offers online Work/Life Services with resources for topics such as child care and elder care issues, housing, vacation planning, scholarships and other consumer matters, money, debt or personal finance, and the law or legal issues. Environmental Health and Safety

EHS offers classroom and online training on a variety of topics to protect the environment and the health of University employees.

The Office of Equal Opportunity Programs offers resources that support the University’s efforts to foster a diverse student body and workforce.


Center for Instructional Technology

The CIT provides faculty development and support for instructional technologies to enhance teaching and learning. Access Tutorials and workshop information.

Office, Clerical, and Technical Staff Assembly

OCTSA represents office, clerical, and technical staff employees at the University. Its Professional Development committee identifies and evaluates “services available to OCT staff through the University and elsewhere to facilitate or improve their performance, opportunity for advancement and quality of life.”


Office of Information Technology

The Office of Information Technology (OIT) offers cybersecurity awareness training through the UA LMS. All UA faculty and staff must complete annual cybersecurity awareness training. This training was built in-house to provide relevant cybersecurity information, critical for protecting sensitive information of students, faculty and staff. Procurement Training

Procurement Training offers training opportunities in order to keep faculty and staff up-to-date on policies and procedures related to the purchase of goods and services on behalf of the University. Visit their website to learn more about the resources that they provide.


Professional Staff Assembly

The PSA is a democratically-elected voting body representing the needs of UA professional staff. Among other responsibilities, the PSA provides training opportunities, and awards the Mark G. Foster Scholarship to support UA professionals continuing their education.

State of Alabama Ethics Commission

The Alabama Ethics Commission offers training on the Alabama Ethics Law to public officials and public employees. The Alabama Ethics Training Video can be accessed on the Commission website.


The Camellia Center

The Camellia Center provides confidential counseling and advocacy for individuals impacted by interpersonal violence and related education and prevention programs. In addition to the confidential services, a calendar of events and programming resources are available to faculty, staff and students.
