Locate a Provider: You can find eligible hospitals and doctors online. Simply enter the first three letters or numbers of the Member ID number on your card (“QTD”) for access to the Find a Provider tool by Country and City. In addition to the Find a Provider tool, the Global Core website offers several useful features including:

Request Reimbursement: You can submit a medical claim reimbursement request online or use the paper form available for download: International Claim Form. Many facilities do not accept US insurance for direct payment – you will likely need to make arrangements for payment upfront, then submit your receipt to BCBS Alabama as a claim for reimbursement.

Before requesting reimbursement, you should receive an explanation of benefits for all claims. You can also review your claims history and claims status online at myBlueCross. Submit your claim with appropriate documentation including the provider’s original itemized bill which must contain:

  1. Letterhead indicating the name and address of the provider,
  2. The full name of the patient receiving the service,
  3. The date of each service,
  4. A description of each service, and
  5. The charge for each service in local currency

Customer Service: The Global Core Service Center is available to coordinate care and assist you with questions. Call the Service Center at +1.800.810.BLUE (2583) or collect at +1.804.673.1177, or email Global Core at customerservice@bcbsglobalcore.com.
