The University of Alabama Department of Human Resources offers weekly New Employee Orientation for faculty and staff and monthly New Management Orientation onsite at the Employee Resource Center. New Employee Orientation provides you with an incredible opportunity to meet other individuals starting their journey at the Capstone!
Employee Orientation
One of your first steps as a new employee at The University of Alabama will be completing New Employee Orientation. This session will provide information about the University’s traditions, values, and expectations, as well as important information regarding your benefits package and the time-sensitive steps you must take to enroll. Additionally, you will meet members of UA Human Resources and fellow new employees beginning their first days of employment at the Capstone.
New employees have 30 days from their date of hire to enroll in benefits.
Orientation is required for all new benefits-eligible staff. New staff employees hired through our online recruitment system (PageUp) will be scheduled for orientation during their pre-employment appointment with the HR Service Center. If you have not attended your pre-employment appointment, please call the HR Service Center at (205) 348-7732 to schedule today. Faculty and non-benefits eligible staff members are strongly encouraged to attend orientation and may contact HR Learning and Development to register.

Upon completion of orientation you will be able utilize your myBama account to enroll in benefits if applicable, update information in the employee directory, set up direct deposit and tax forms, update your mailing address, and acknowledge the Employee Acknowledgement Form (EAF).
Orientation is hosted at the Employee Resource Center on the University Services Campus (1515 Flint River Drive Tuscaloosa AL, 35404) in Classroom A.

New Management Orientation
This monthly offering, facilitated by our HR Business Partners and Employee Relations Consultants provides new supervisors and managers with an overview of how to better understand and achieve University expectations; their responsibilities for compliance with key University requirements; and an overview of key departments and functions that may be a resource.
Register at ualms.ua.edu (UA’s Online Learning Management System) or select New Management Orientation.
