Welcome Aboard and Roll Tide!
To maintain social distancing and other preventive health strategies related to COVID-19 Employee Orientation for Faculty, Staff and Management is being offered in a virtual format. Please read below to learn more about New Employee Orientation.
Employee Orientation – Virtual
One of your first critical steps as a University of Alabama employee will be completing New Employee Orientation. New Employee Orientation will provide you the opportunity to learn more about the University’s traditions, values, and expectations. The session will also provide important information regarding your benefits package and the time-sensitive steps you must take to enroll. Last, you will have a chance to meet colleagues just like you, who are beginning their first days of employment at the Capstone. New employees have 30 days from their date of hire to enroll in benefits.
To begin the process please take the following steps:
- Register for your virtual orientation
- Review myBama Self Service Instructions
- Review the Benefits Summary Guide
NOTE: New faculty employees must also attend New Faculty Orientation held in August, please visit https://provost.ua.edu/new-faculty for more information
Upon completion of your virtual orientation you will be able utilize your myBama account to enroll in benefits if applicable, update information in the employee directory, set up direct deposit/tax forms, update mailing address, sign the Employee Acknowledgement Form (EAF) and Intellectual Property Agreement (IPA).
*The University of Alabama requires employees to be paid by direct deposit. If you fail to set up direct deposit, your check will be mailed to the local mailing address on file in our payroll system. Pay checks will not be available for pick-up. You can set up direct deposit or update your local mailing address on the Employee tab of myBama.
