The Department of Human Resources hosts high-quality onboarding events for all employees to foster Building Community at The Capstone. These events are designed to create a more welcoming campus community and encourage a collaborative environment with relationship-building activities to support our outstanding faculty and staff. Whether you have five months of service, or twenty-five years – all are encouraged to attend a community event!

Employee Resource Fair
The Employee Resource Fair is your chance to connect with UA’s amazing faculty and staff, explore campus departments and services, meet representatives from our benefits vendors, and build valuable relationships. Don’t miss this fun opportunity to engage, network, and grow with your UA community. You can also earn 5 WellBAMA points for attending!

Family Movie Night
Bring chairs and blankets and grab your spot on the grass starting at 7PM immediately following the conclusion of the Crimson Couch to 5K event. Movie presentation, Sing 2, will begin at 8PM. Hot popcorn and beverages will be provided. Food trucks will be on site for food purchase.

Cookies and Conversation
Cookies & Conversation provides an opportunity to meet a campus leader, learn about initiatives in their respective areas, engage in a Q&A session and enjoy a sweet treat! Attending these sessions is a great way for faculty and staff to learn about how the University works and meet other employees. Recent speakers include Susan Norton, Associate Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer; Matthew McLendon, Associate Vice President and Executive Director of Enrollment Management; Patrick Murphy, Head Coach of Alabama Softball, and Ashley Johnson, Head Coach of Alabama Gymnastics.

Legendary Locations
Legendary Locations is a new event series to highlight unique locations across campus. Would you like to tour Bryant Denny Stadium, visit The Foundry in the College of Engineering, or learn about beekeeping on the 60-acre Arboretum? Join us! Legendary Locations events will rotate on a recurring schedule.

Tide Trivia
Tide Trivia is a new event series focused on helping faculty and staff learn more about The University of Alabama. Tide Trivia provides a fun opportunity to test your knowledge about the history, traditions and fun facts surrounding the University. Attending these sessions is a great way to meet other colleagues and build community at the Capstone. Tide Trivia events are 100% virtual and will involve a Kahoot! quiz with questions and multiple-choice answers. $25 gift card prizes will be awarded to employees that place 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the Kahoot! quiz.
