FLSA Overtime Rule Vacated

On Nov. 15, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas ruled to vacate all updates to the Department of Labor’s Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) overtime rule. The decision struck down scheduled increases to the salary threshold, as well as automatic planned increases, and applies to all employers and employees covered under the FLSA nationwide.

UA Human Resources officials had been proactively preparing to comply with stage two of the FLSA overtime rule scheduled to take effect Jan. 1, 2025. In light of the court’s ruling, UA HR will suspend preparation efforts.
