TUARA Focuses on "Connecting"
The University of Alabama Retirees Association (TUARA) seeks to assist members in volunteerism and service projects. A previous survey indicates that UA retirees are devoting countless hours to various local, state and national groups and communities. One new initiative in the service area of TUARA is to assist the University Medical Center in establishing a volunteer group to serve as "greeters" at the Center. The University Medical Center/College of Community Health has been in existence since 1974 and serves approximately 55,000 patients a year. As they settle into their new facility, UMC has expressed a need to TUARA for such a volunteer group. To volunteer or receive more information regarding this project, TUARA members may contact Dianne Kerr at dianne@comcast.net or call her at 339-5514.
